SGU will have gay characters!

And looking at the reactions to that on Gateworld, I'd say it's needed desperately. 

“I don’t hate gays, just their practice and way of life.”
“If you want lesbians they have plenty of websites that you can go to”
“if i wanted to watch lesbians i would watch porn simple”
“What it the sole purpose of sex? To have a baby”

And of course:

Why the Hell do people insist on talking about gays, bringing it up and shoving in our faces. This little article does just that. I find it insulting it is taking up space and in my face. Is there some need for it to be pushed on us?

Dude you are the epitome of people who need to have it shoved in their face, so maybe you'll get a clue.

Edit: Also; This dreamwith thing... What's the deal with that? You have to pay for it? (I realize a lot of people pay for LJ as well, but I like my internetz to come free of charge)

Dreamwidth is like livejournal in that you can pay for the service, but you do not have to. My account is free. The free accounts do not have the adverts that LiveJournal has.

I do not think that the link at the top of the post leads where you think it leads. ;)

*sigh* I wish I were The Omnipotent TV Programmer & could fill all zillion-&-three TV channels with non-monogamous-non-het programming; & that I could make almost all the people of North America watch those zillion-&-three channels & talk about them & write magazines & newspaper articles & Internet sites about them & generally build popular culture around them. Then I want to plop the homophobic asshats down in the middle of that culture & make them wait & search for the two or three mentions a year of a het couple, & pay an extra $55/month for half the channels on cable so they can watch one show on one channel with het characters who somewhat resemble people they know, & have to decide what to say the next day at work or school when everyone else is disgusted at having that filth shoved in the faces of normal people.

But then, I'm evil like that. >:-D
