Lost finale S2

Poor Hugo, send back traipsing across the Island to tell his people that... hang on. His people? So that would be Claire and Charlie then, now that Locke and Eko got blown up.
How awesome would it be though if next season, all the extra Lostaways suddenly grabbed a bunch of sharp sticks and stuff and went of to rescue the regulars!
Am I alone in thinking a bunch of people might have been interested in forming that army (that was mentioned once and then never again), but had second thoughts when they found out that Jack would be generalisimo and that they would have to spend lots of time with Ana-Lucia? :)
Not sure how I feel about Pen's mission to... er... safe Desmond? If that is the plan it's kind of sad she found him because he blew himself skyhigh. I'm just not sure if proving the outside world still exist was a smart thing to do.
