Torchwood: The grownup who...

korilianFinally got around to seeing the first to eps of Torchwood.
Right. So they were always pretty clear that Torchwood was gonna be Who for grownups. And boy are they gleefully ramming that down our throat with the darkness and sex. Someone is definitely working out some kinks with this show...
Spoilers for ep 1 & 2
So do I like it? Hmmm. Well... yes. I suppose. Can't deny the squeeeling that accompanied parts of the watching.
Like:
* The relationship between Gwen and hubby. They're adorable.
* The fact that the torchwood crew are so whacked by their jobs that they hardly have any social life and skewed social filters and were totally perving out over Gwen snogging the possessed girl! (all totally bi! Go Jack for your good influence there!)
* Jack back in uniform and sort of immortal and out of touch with humanity. Something tells me he's been around and alone for a loooong time since the doctor and Rose left him (because he learned about stuff like that, darnit!).
* The severed hand! Ten euro's Jack cut of his own hand for study! Eeek!
* The traumatized girl at the end of ep 2. Please, please, please give her a amnesia pill, cuz she killed like seven people under alien influence.
Dislike:
*All right. So the scene where Harper seduced the boyfriend when he wanted to pummel him was funny, but also squik! Cuz hello! Date rape anyone! He basically took away their free will, even if the pheromone of whatever he was using, might not leave them under that impression.
* Gwen reminding everyone of their humanity. Ugh. Hope they ease of on that.
* Jack... Like him, but a little more charm and a little less mystery please.
